Otto Marvin Timm
Otto Marvin Timm, age 82, of Shawano, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008. Otto was born on August 1, 1925, the youngest of three children, son of the late Albert and Minnie (Ziebur) Timm. Otto was married on June 12, 1954 to Delores Mientke in Elderon; she preceded him in death January 17, 1976. He then married Martha Wentdorf – Pollnow on August 29, 1992 in Shawano. She died on November 23, 1996. He lived on the family dairy farm all of his life and retired in 1990. Otto was a Jehovah’s Witness, enjoyed model trains and spending time with his family. He was also a humanitarian of animals.

Otto is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Marc Panaro of Milwaukee, 2 step-daughters, Mary Pollnow of Shawano and Linda Pecore of Green Bay.

He is preceded in death by: 2 sons, Dale and Wayne; a step-son, Charles Pollnow and 2 brothers.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 6:00pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Shawano with Mr. Kurt Zastrow officiating. Cremation will be at Lone Pine Crematory in Bonduel and burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends after 3:00pm Wednesday at the church until the time of service.

Evelyn M. Huebner
Evelyn M. Huebner, age 89 of Colorado, formerly of Bonduel, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Colorado Springs. Born on February 19, 1919 in Black River Falls, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Jessie (Kolden) Lubow. Evelyn grew up in the Black River Falls area and graduated from Black River Falls High School. On November 21, 1936 she was united in marriage to Kermit Huebner in Black River Falls. After their marriage, the couple moved to the Milwaukee area where they raised a son and a daughter. After Kermit’s death in 1971, Evelyn moved to the Shawano area and in 1981 she moved to the Hillside Apartments in Bonduel where she helped out with many of the activities and even provided transportation to many of the residents. In later years, Evelyn would spend most of her winters with her daughter in Florida and moved there permanently in 2003 and last year she moved with her daughter to Colorado Springs. Evelyn was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano.

Evelyn is survived by: her daughter, Sharon (Richard) Trapman of Colorado Springs, CO; her son, Maynard (Rosemarie) Huebner of Columbus, SC; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.

Evelyn was preceded in death by: her husband, Kermit; 1 granddaughter; her parents; and 5 brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Peter L. Sherven officiating. Entombment will be in the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee. Family and friends may call at the funeral on Sunday after 12:30pm until the time of the service.

Robert A. Diers
Robert A. Diers, age 77 of Keshena, formerly of Wausau, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Wausau. Born on April 10, 1931 in Laona, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Dietzler) Diers. In 1951, Bob enlisted with the United States Army 3rd Infantry Division and served in Korea until 1953. On October 2, 1964 he was united in marriage to Glarus A. Tourtillott in Neopit. Together the couple lived in the Milwaukee area where Bob worked for Wisconsin Bell AT&T until retiring. After his retirement, the couple moved to Wausau and made their home there for 11 years. In 1992, the couple made their final move to the Legend Lake area in Keshena where they lived together until Glarus’s death on December 18, 1998. Bob was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena and the Knights of Columbus Council #12185. He enjoyed doing acrylic and oil based portraits and nature scene paintings. He also enjoyed doing wood carvings and working on antique cars. Bob and Glarus enjoyed Sunday afternoon rides through the country and going for pontoon rides.

Bob is survived by: 4 children, Paul Diers of Shawano, Carol (Kevin) Spiegel of Belleville, Theresa Diers of Wausau, Delores (Kurt Buttke) Diers of Wausau; 2 grandchildren, Alora and Mia; and his faithful dog, Casper. Bob is further survived by: 1 sister, Jean (Tom) Budney of Sheboygan Falls; 2 nephews, Rich (Angie) Budney of Duluth, MN, David Budney of Milwaukee; 2 brothers-in-law, Wayne (Rosemary) Tourtillott of Minneapolis, MN, Bernard (Josephine) Tourtillott of Keshena; 1 sister-in-law, Vivian Rants of Ironwood, MI; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Neopit with Military Rites by the Menominee American Legion Post #497 and the Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4 until 8pm and at the church on Monday after 10am until the time of the service. A Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7pm followed by a Knight of Columbus Rosary Service at 7:30pm.

Milo J. Bohm
Milo J. Bohm, age 71 of Leeman, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Shawano. Born on April 23, 1937 in the Town of Hartland, he was the son of the late Arthur and Augusta (Beilfuss) Bohm. Milo grew up in the Bonduel area and attended Bonduel High School. On May 31, 1958 he was united in marriage to Audrey Dickow in Shawano. After their marriage, the couple moved to Milwaukee where Milo worked in construction for the Druml Company. In 1982, Milo retired from Druml and the couple moved to Leeman where Milo raised beef and dairy cattle. Audrey preceded in death on August 18, 2000. Milo was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. He enjoyed cars and trucks and liked going deer hunting.

Milo is survived by: 2 daughters, Tammy (Rick) Albrecht of Menomonee Falls, Tracey (Rick) Biedenbender of Mukwonago; 1 son, Scott Bohm of Merton; and 5 grandchildren, Angie, Kristi, Jenni, Brittany, and Brandon. Milo is further survived by: 1 brother, Virgil Bohm of Bonduel; 3 sisters, Arbutus Niles of Green Bay, Marcia (Art) Brodhagen of Green Bay, Susan (John) Kornely of Oconomowoc; and 1 sister-in-law, June Bohm of Shawano.

Milo was preceded in death by: his wife, Audrey; his parents; and 1 brother, Eugene.

Agustin Ascalante
Agustin Escalante, age 41 of Shawano, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 at his home. Born on July 11, 1966 in Chicago, he was the son of Luis Escalante and the late Lorena (Wesho) Escalante. Agustin was employed by the Menominee Indian School District and was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the outdoors, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Agustin is survived by: his 4 children, Danaé, Ramona, Kaylynn, Paul; his father, Luis Escalante of Mattoon; and 8 brothers and sisters, Louis (Roberta), Robert (Marge), Anita (Gale), Frank, Antonio (Maria), Maggie (Richard), Timothy, and Katherine.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Louise T. Labbe
Louise T. Labbe, age 101 of Lake Drive, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Oconto Falls. Born on October 1, 1906 in Monico, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Constance Prescott. She married Philip S. Labbe in Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1966. Louise was an avid gardener and those who passed by would marvel at her beautiful flowers. She loved to fish and hunt, which she pursued until her later years. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and bird watching. Last year, her family got together to honor Louise with a very special 100th Birthday Celebration.

Louise is survived by: her daughter, Marlene LaPuma of Pontiac, IL; her son, Philip A. (Therese) Labbe of Chicago; 6 grandchildren, Tom, Jack, Beth, Suzanne, Linnea, Debbie; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by: her husband, Philip; her parents; and 7 brothers and sisters.

Robert James Hetzel
Robert James Hetzel, age 84 of the Town of Pella, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008. Born on December 17, 1923 in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Louis and Lydia Hetzel. On December 26, 1943 he was united in marriage to Arline Knies. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II as a medic with The Yankee Division fought in The Battle of the Bulge. Bob was employed at Allis Chalmers in West Allis for 42 years until retiring in 1983. After retiring, the couple moved to Pella where they have lived for the past 24 years. Robert enjoyed his horses, Honey and Chance, and even rode Honey in President Carter’s Inaugural Parade with the Tripoli Shrine Horse Patrol. Chance was ridden by another member of the Horse Patrol representing the State of Wisconsin. Bob rode Chance as Buffalo Bill Cody in Milwaukee’s Fourth of July Parade in 1971, 1972 and 1973 and participated in a number of other parades. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and flying his airplane. He was also known around the Shawano County area for playing his accordion for many dances and private parties.

Robert is survived by: his wife of 64 years, Arline and their dog, Cappy; his daughter, Nancy Hetzel of Waukesha; his sons, Jim Hetzel of Waukesha, Jack Hetzel of Slinger; grandsons, Daniel Hetzel, Eric Brunette; and granddaughter, MiNei Hetzel. Robert is further survived by: sister-in-law, Vi Schrader; brother-in-law, Roy (Nancy) Knies; nieces; nephews; and good friends, Lynn & Bill Rubin, Pat & Larry Wruck, Beverly & Gene Coenen, Randy and Laurie and Luke Lohrentz.

Robert was preceded in death by: his parents, Louis and Lydia Hetzel; brother, Harold (Marcella) Hetzel; sister, Erma; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ted & Florence Geisler, Laverne & Joe Wagner, and Fred Schrader.

Private family services were held. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Peter M. Krisor
Peter M. Krisor, age 67 of Keshena, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at a local nursing home. Born on September 21, 1940 in Kenosha, he was the son of Esther (Lewis) Diel and the late Aloysius N. Krisor. Peter worked for many years as a Supervisor at American Motor in Kenosha. In his spare time, he enjoyed painting and doing body work on cars. Peter was known as an active man who always had to be doing something. He started every day with a morning walk with his dog Lucky. Peter loved nature and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He also had a love for animals and enjoyed going for a swim.

Peter is survived by: his 4 sons, Kevin Gister of Shawano, Matt (Sue Rovik) Krisor of Kenosha, Timothy (Cari) Krisor of Kenosha, Anthony Krisor of Keshena; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; his mother, Esther Diel of Kenosha; 3 sisters, Joyce (Willie) Miller of NE, Betty (Jack) Duben of Burlington, Margaret Ross of Kenosha; and 1 sister-in-law, Lucille Krisor of NE.

Peter was preceded in death by: his father, Aloysius Krisor; 1 brother, Aloysius N. Krisor, Jr.; and 1 sister, Jane Krisor.

JoAnna “Annie” Melotte, age 42 of Neopit, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 in Shawano. Born on February 21, 1966 in Shawano, she was the daughter of Joseph Melotte, Sr. and Helen Peterson. Annie was an active member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, and friends, cooking, cleaning, and going for walks in the outdoors.

Annie is survived by: her father, Joseph Melotte, Sr.; her mother, Helen (Norman) Peterson; special friend, Kenny Askenette; 3 brothers, Joseph (Lee) Melotte, Jr. of South Branch, Roger (Sherry) Isham of Keshena, Thomas L. Harrison of Appleton; and 1 sister, Jessica (Aptickasic) Zepeda of Keshena. Annie is further survived by: 5 special nephews, Adam Isham, Awaehtok Hawpetoss, Aptickasic Hawpetoss II, Adrian Hawpetoss, Thomas L. Robert J. Cloud
Robert J. Cloud, age 44 of Keshena, died Saturday April 26, 2008. Born on July 24, 1963, he was the son of Isabel (Sanapaw) Cloud. He attended the Flandreau Indian High School and for many years was a well known artist, with paintings being shipped to many areas of the United States. He also enjoyed using his artistic talents creating tattoos. When younger he enjoyed fishing.

Robert is survived by: 2 daughters, Crystie (special friend, Filemon Ortega) Cloud of DePere, LaTisha (special friend, Fernando Gomez) Cloud of DePere; a son, Nee-Gee Cloud of Keshena; 5 grandchildren, Marcos Salazar, Andrea Ortega, Lilliana Cloud, Fernando Gomez, Mya Gomez; his mother, Isabel Cloud of Keshena; and 5 brothers and a sisters, Gene (Joann) Cloud of Beloit, Tad Cloud of Keshena, Troy Cloud of Keshena, Wayne Cloud of Beloit, Merceline Munoz of Beloit and Kinepoway Valliere of Milwaukee. He is further survived by: godparents, Barbara Wheelock and Richard “Rocky” Sanapaw; nieces and nephews; 5 aunts; 2 uncles; and numerous cousins.

Thomas L. Rahn, Sr.
Thomas L. Rahn, Sr. age 59 of Shawano, died Saturday April 26, 2008. Born on October 29, 1948 in Oconto Falls, he was the son of Kenneth and the late Elsie (Mittag) Rahn. Thomas lived in the Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay areas where he was a baker at Cub Foods in Green Bay West and Econo Foods in Sturgeon Bay. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles. He had served in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam.

Thomas is survived by: a son, Thomas (Toni) Rahn, Jr. of Waupaca; his father, Kenneth Rahn of Suring; and a brother, Gary (special friend Melissa) Rahn of Shawano.

There will be a gathering of family and friends with fellowship and stories at Bernie’s Bar and Grill in Cecil on Wednesday April 30, 2008 beginning at 1:00 pm. The Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Gerald C. Smith
Gerald C. Smith, age 64, formerly of Shawano, passed away Saturday April 26, 2008 at his home in Waukesha due to a yearlong battle with cancer. Born on November 28, 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, he was the son of the late Russell G and Meleda (Wolff) Smith. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1961 to 1982. On December 31, 1966 he married Andrea Braun in Shawano. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2002. Gerald enjoyed bowling, golfing, spending time on the computer and doing photography. He was a member of the Shawano VFW Post #2723.

Gerald is survived by: 3 sons, David (Patti) Smith, Darin Smith, and Kevin Smith all of Waukesha; a sister, Karen (Gary) Snell of Freedom; a brother, Jeff (Kathy) Smith of Germantown; and 2 grandchildren, Nathanael Smith and Logan Short.

He was also preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Sophia and Adelle Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Michael Schram officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the service.

Carl J. Holl
Carl J. Holl, age 89 formerly of Leopolis, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at a local nursing home. Born on January 20, 1919 in Dubuque, Iowa, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Raskop) Holl. Carl was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II in Europe with the Third Armored Division and the 123rd Signal Company. While serving in France Carl was wounded in action and later received The Purple Heart Medal. On Sept 6, 1952 he was united in marriage to Pauline Warmuth at the Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Together the coupled lived in Milwaukee for a short time where Carl worked as an electrician for AO Smith. They then moved to Leopolis where they owned and operated The Old Ranch House for 45 years. Carl loved entertaining the many generations of area residents that came to his establishment. When not at work, Carl was active in his community and was even the Grand Marshall for the 1992 Leopolis Parade. But the thing that Carl enjoyed most was spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. Carl was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis where he had been a past treasurer and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Carl is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Pauline; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Mark Geiger of Francis Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jane Holl of Wausau; granddaughters, Natasha (Bryan) Hanneman of Madison, Ashley (special friend, Paul Michlig) Holl of Wausau, Stephanie (special friend, Jerome Wotachek) Chupita of Stevens Point; and grandsons, David J. Chupita of NC, and Michael Chupita of Francis Creek. Carl is further survived by: Kristy (Jeff) Hahn of CO, Jolene (Jake) Funk of Francis Creek, Lee Geiger of NC; 3 sisters, Genevieve Goldman, Mary (Bob) Hazen , Ann Schmitz all of CA; brothers, Eldon Holl of CA, Joseph (Marion) Holl of IA; brother-in-law, Charles Diers of San Ramon, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by: his parents; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis with the Rev. John Girotti officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Tuesday from 4 until 8pm and at the church on Wednesday after 10am until the time of the service. Diane R. 'Trix' Oshkeshequoam
Diane R. “Trix” Oshkeshequoam, age 52 of Keshena, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 in Green Bay. Born on July 28, 1955 in Shawano, she was the daughter of Leonard Oshkeshequoam and the late Matilda (Mahkimetas) Oshkeshequoam. Diane was a caring person who spent many years providing in home care for her father. She also took great pride in the accomplishments of her nieces and nephews. When not with her family, Diane worked as a cook at the Hillstop Restaurant and would volunteer at the Menominee Logging Camp. She loved to socialize and cook and was especially known for her homemade biscuits. Diane was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena.

Diane is survived by: her father, Leonard of Keshena; 6 siblings, Arnold (special friend, Pat) of Green Bay, Richard of Keshena, Lisa (Monroe) Weso of Keshena, Troy (Maria) of Green Bay, Darwin of Neopit, Janice of Springfield, IL; 25 nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and grandnephews; and several aunts and uncles including Elvira Penass of Keshena. She is further survived by her best friends, Kris Caldwell, Ardie Waupoose, Roxy LaRock, and Kenneth “Chico” Martin.

Diane was preceded in death by: her mother, Matilda; 1 sister, Patricia King; and 5 brothers, Michael, Ronald, Leonard, Jr., Leon, and Robert.

Muriel N. Cerveny
Muriel N. Cerveny, age 89 of Shawano, formerly of Gresham, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at a local nursing home. Born on March 4, 1919 in the Town of Seneca, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Emma (Heins) Stoehr. Muriel lived her entire life in the Gresham area. She was married to Frank Jeske who preceded her in death. On September 5, 1942 she was united in marriage to James J. Cerveny II in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1998. Muriel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Gresham Ward and later the Shawano Ward. She played the organ for church services for more than 50 years, taught Sunday school and the Relief Society, and was very active with many other church callings. Muriel enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing piano and organ; and reading Western novels.

Muriel is survived by: 7 children, Dean (Edwina) Jeske of Idaho, Wayne (Doris) Jeske of Tilleda, James (Donna) Cerveny III of Gresham, Bonnie Cerveny of Shawano, Diane (David) Wahl of Seymour, Judy Nietzer of Gresham, Marjorie (Robert) Reedy of Gresham; daughter-in-law, Diane Cerveny of Gresham; son-in-law, Ivan (Nancy) Heins of Gresham; 34 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great-grandchildren. Muriel is further survived by: 2 sisters, Eleanor (Lawrence) Paiser of Gresham, Joycelyn (Joseph) Miller of Utah; and 3 brothers, Aubrey (Marjorie) Stoehr of Arizona, Grant (Dolores) Stoehr of Shawano, and Delroy (Linda) Stoehr of Stoughton.

Muriel was preceded in death by: her husbands, Frank Jeske and James J. Cerveny II; a son, Cal Cerveny; a daughter, Evyon Heins; 3 grandchildren; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Gresham Ward with Bishop Dennis Rekow and Bishop Craig Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery in the Town of Seneca. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday after 9:00am until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Elda I. Sager
Elda Sager, age 91, formerly of Bonduel, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at a Green Bay nursing home. Born on June 19, 1916 in the Town of Hartland, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Linda (Knueppel) Neitzel. Elda attended Sohr School in the Town of Hartland and St. Paul Lutheran School in Bonduel. In her younger years, she had been employed at the Bilmay Hotel and Stan’s Newsstand. On October 28, 1939, she married George Sager in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Elda spent most of her life in the Town of Hartland as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel.

Elda is survived by: her daughter, Lana (Don) Reinke of Hobart; 3 grandchildren, Derek (Stephanie) Reinke of Hartland, Drew (special friend, Sarah) Reinke of Spokane, WA and Daniel Reinke of Menomonie, WI.

Elda is preceded in death by: 1 son, James, 2 brothers, Delmer and Walter Neitzel and a sister, Lillian Klosterman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Leonard Wildauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg – Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Thursday from 4 until 8pm and at the church on Friday after 10:00am until the time of the service.

Elva Rose (Sigadee) Tucker
Elva Rose Tucker, age 86, of Keshena, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008. Born on December 29, 1921 in Keshena, she was the daughter of the late Mose and Louise (Grignon) Tucker. Elva grew up on the Menominee Indian Reservation. After graduating from Haskell Institute, Elva went on to attend Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1942, ‘43, ’50 and ‘51. After graduating from college, she returned to the Menominee Indian Reservation and was employed by the Department of the Interior from 1951 until 1960. She later worked as a secretary for the Menominee County for 25 years until retiring in 1985. Elva was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena.

Elva is survived by 28 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Elva was preceded in death by: her father, Mose; her mother, Louise; and 11 brothers and sisters, Florence, Virginia, Ralphael, Ruth, John, Gabriel, Mary, Clarence, Edward, Algier and Joseph.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday from 4 until 8pm and at the church on Thursday after 10:00am until the time of the service. A Parish Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7pm.

Russell M. 'Son' Welch
Russell M. “Son” Welch, age 64, of Bowler, died Monday, April 21, 2008 in Wittenberg. Born on December 4, 1943, in Shawano, he was the son of Guida (Tousey) Welch and the late Merton R. Welch. Russell lived in South St. Paul, MN, from 1952 until1988 when he moved back to the Bowler area. He worked as a laborer, building commercial buildings and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking in the woods. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morgan Siding.
Russell is survived by: 1 son, Russell (Lorie) Andreson of Ely, MN; 2 daughters, Theresa (Robert) Miller of Reno, NV, Rebecca (Donald) Laurich of Chisholm, MN; 2 grandchildren, Wyatt & Elijah; his mother, Guida of Bowler; 8 siblings, Ralph (Fran) Welch of Princeton, MN, Robert (Diane) Welch of Bowler, Rosetta (Dave) Ramirez of Bowler, Rhonona (Cruize) Vasquez of Bowler, Ronda (William) Sullivan of Bowler, Redeena (John) Krieger of St. Paul, MN, Ronald (Patricia) Welch of Bozman, MT and Rupert Welch of Milwaukee.
Russell was preceded in death by: his father, Merton and a brother, Rene Welch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Assembly of God Church in Morgan Siding with the Rev. Rodger Cree officiating. Burial will be in the Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday after 9:30am until the time of the service.
